Katerina Yoffe Larden is a hardworking mother, wife and entrepreneur. Like most women in her position, Larden’s skincare regime took a back seat as she juggled the day-to-day duties associated with her many roles. New York, NY (January 2015) – Not many people would consider taking the leap of faith from a high-paying Wall Street career into the risk-laden world of a natural beauty entrepreneur, but Nancy Twine, founder and CEO of Briogeo Hair Care, did just that and quickly discovered her true calling. Since hitting the market less than a year ago, Briogeo, pronounced [bree-oh-jhee-oh], has been quickly gaining clout with beauty industry experts and recently landed its first major contract with Sephora, making Twine the youngest African American female to ever launch a line with the major retailer.

1. How did you get involved in the beauty industry?
There comes a time in a woman’s life when she is suddenly confronted with the unwanted signs of aging.
Rahua is a haircare brand that resonates well with discerning clients, celebrities, and retailers alike. Since its official debut at CPNA in 2010 as a Discover Beauty exhibitor, the brand portfolio has expanded to include more SKU’s and its availability to consumers has also widened. Rahua is now ready to unveil its luxury haircare products to the worldwide stage at Cosmoprof Bologna in the Extraordinary Gallery Below is a quick update and insight on the brand from its creators- Fabian Lliguin and Anna Ayers.
Snowberry was one of the Discover Beautybrands that launched at Cosmoprof North America this year and it was a huge hit. The natural skin care brand ‘that is good for you and the earth’ won the acclaimed 2011 Discover Beauty Award and has been featured in many publications, including the October issue of Marie Claire. Not a bad start for a new brand out of New Zealand. We asked Soraya and Greg from Snowberry a few questions about their experience at the world’s largest trade show in North America, and what has happened since then.

• How did Cosmoprof help It Cosmetics get to the next level in the beauty market?
Discover Beauty was an amazing opportunity to meet one-on-one with both domestic and international buyers and get their direct feedback on product assortment and brand positioning. Many of them had not heard of our brand before, so it was a great opportunity to get our products in front of them for the first time. As a result we had our first Trunk Show at Henri Bendel Department Store in NYC and are excited to continue working with them! We also met so many other wonderful brand owners, and it was a great opportunity to exchange advice as well. We were so honored to be selected as a Discover Beauty 2010 brand and the experience truly exceeded our expectations.
When looking for, or when launching new and exciting cosmetic brands, Discover Beauty at Cosmoprof North America is THE place to go. The hand-selected lineup of brands are either newly launched to market or international brands already established abroad but not yet available in the United States.
In its conception, Discover Beauty was meant to be a launch pad for these budding brands. Over time, this area has become so coveted and so closely watched, that the prestigious Discover Beauty Award was created in 2009.
